R.H. Donnelley Corporation, a leading Yellow Pages and online local commercial search company, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Business.com, a business search engine and directory and pay-per-click advertising network. Under the terms of the agreement, Business.com would be acquired for $345 million in cash and deferred purchase consideration. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2007.

Search engine Local.com acquired online business directory provider PremierGuide.com for approximately $2 million.

Mediabistro.com a Web Site for job-seeking media and creative professionals is sold for $23million. The Jupitermedia Corporation, an Internet research company that also sells photos and art, agreed to pay $20 million in cash and an additional $3 million over two years for the company. Employers pay to post jobs on the site, which also offers premium content to users who pay subscription fees. Last year, the site had 600,000 unique visitors.

In May 2007 CBS acquired the stock market-focused video blog Wallstrip for a reported $5 million. In January 2007 Wallstrip was receiving around 10,000 views per episode. It had previously raised about half a million dollars from angel investors.

Online retailer Amazon.com announced it acquired www.dpreview.com, a comprehensive site for digital camera information and reviews. Dpreview.com was founded in 1998 and receives seven million unique visitors a month (over 22 million sessions) who read over 120 million pages.

NameMedia announced the acquisition of SmartName.com, one of the pioneers in providing monetization services for owners of high value domain name portfolios.
