Buzznet, one of the leading social music communities announced that it acquired Stereogum  - a music blog. There are no details about the deal.

Internet Brands, which operates community and e-commerce websites, announced that it acquired five  leisure-related websites in its consumer Internet division. The largest of the sites, FitDay.com, is a online dieting and fitness sites, three other sites (HighDefForums.com, HighDefDigest.com and AVRev.com) target  the rapidly growing consumer interest in high-definition home entertainment, while the fifth site, VetInfo.com, features extensive content related to pet health.

With these acquisitions on a full-month basis, Internet Brands’ unique monthly visitors climbed to 34 million in March 2008, while monthly page views increased to 458 million in the same period.

Fashion site Stylemob has been acquired by woman/lifestyle/fashion network Glam Media. Terms were not disclosed. Stylemob is less than a year old, and has three employees.

It was announced that Communicate.com, one of the better known domainers, has acquired Auctomatic.com for a reported $5 million. Auctomatic caters to eBay sellers and offers an online inventory management system from their site.  Communicate.com has been accumulating domain names and web properties for over 10 years.

Hearst Magazines announced that it bought out online relationships advice site Answerology.com. The New York based site which was founded in 2005 focuses on relationships and marriage advice and enables members to pose questions to a targeted community around relationship-related topics such as dating, family, career, and marriage. Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, it is reportedly in the seven figures.

ESPN has acquired Seattle-based Hoopgurlz.com, a girls-focused basketball which reports on high school and college basketball, offers tournament listings, player profiles, message boards, player blogs and other community centered features. The acquisition is part of ESPN’s online expansion. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
