Grandparenting resource GrandparentsMagazine.net, with an estimated 100,000 monthly uniques, has been acquired by Grandparents.com. GrandparentsMagazine.net founder Katrina Hayday Wester will join Grandparents.com. Grandparents.com is headquartered in New York City and owned by private investment firms Laser Partners and TWS Partners.. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bankrate acquires Savingforcollege.com, a privately owned business run by college finance industry specialist, Joseph Hurley, for $2.25 million plus $2 million in possible earnouts. Savingforcollege.com offers various tools, such as online calculators and professional directories, and information about 529 college savings plans to help families save money for college.
The No. 2 Czech Web Portal Centrum.cz and it’s parent company NetCentrum SRO, was acquired by private Equity Fund Warburg Pincus. Centrum.cz, also offers Web searching and context-based online advertising services. Apparently, Czech media has reported the value of the Web portal to be around $147 million.
Zipidee.com announced that it has acquired TotalVid.com, making it one of the largest digital marketplace for mid-to long-tail instructional, educational, and special interest ‘pay for’ content. With this acquisition, Zipidee will have 10,000 titles for sale from over 600 content sellers. They have 300,000 visitors per month looking at 1 million seller listing pages with approximately 150,000 active registered members.
Dun & Bradstreet Corp., has bought the online media and e-commerce company AllBusiness.com for about $58 million. It expects the acquisition to generate an additional $10 million of revenue in 2008. AllBusiness.com, which started in 1999, was originally sold to NBC in 2000 for a price tag of $225 million. It was later sold to a private company and raised additional funding in 2004 through 2006.
AllBusiness.com claims an audience of more than 2 million and a library of around 2 million pieces of business information. It is ranked around 8400 on Alexa and according to Quantcast has around 569,000 monthly unique visitors.
Walt Disney announced that it has acquired Illinois-based iParenting Media, which runs iParenting.com, a ten-year-old online network founded in 1996 of over 40 community sites for parents and those expecting children. The iParenting acquisition will integrated alongside Disney’s other family sites such as Family.com and FamilyFun.com. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed but they are rumored to be around $19 million in cash and earnout.
